Visitors can come learn about history – and be a part of it – this coming weekend June 21-22 during CIVIL WAR TRAIN RAIDS and a 1884 Living History Event at the Hesston Steam Museum. Every train leaving Hesston Junction will be raided by Confederate raiding parties. Then Union troops will work to restore order and secure the rails for the army and passengers. Stroll in the camps of the Union and Confederate Armies as life from 1884 is reenacted before your eyes. The Hesston Steam Museum has three railroads steamed up this and every summer weekend. As always, Hesston offers a family-friendly event . . . though visitors may experiences some loud noises this weekend. Hesston’s Gift Shop will be open and visitors can buy refreshments or lunch on the grounds. Better still, there’s plenty of room for picnics! Museum Grounds open at 11:30 and trains run from noon to 5 p.m. CDT. NO admission and free parking! Train Ride Fares are $3.00 for children and $5.00 for adults. NEW TICKET PLAN: Each person in a group can purchase a four-ride ticket for just $10.00 for children and $17.00 for adults.
