HESSTON STEAMS UP FOR A BUSY JUNE!
FATHER’S DAY SPECIAL & CIVIL WAR TRAIN RAIDS
HESSTON, IND. – It’s getting warmer outside. Likewise, the Hesston
Steam Museum – the best not-for-profit place for family fun and learning –
is heating up its schedule of events!
FATHER’S DAY: Here's a great Father's Day gift wrapped up in
sights, sound, steam and fun family memories! In honor of Father's Day, the
Hesston Steam Museum lets DADS RIDE ON ANY TRAIN FOR JUST ONE DOLLAR all
weekend *with one paid child's ticket!
Then on Sunday (Father's Day), Hesston literally rolls out even more
entertainment as host to the Northwest Indiana Chapter of the American Truck
Historical Society Antique Truck Club. Tour the grounds and see the beautifully
restored trucks from all eras.
The Hesston Steam Museum will have all three live-steam railroads operating for
the entire weekend. Each railroad travels a different route on the museum’s
scenic grounds. This is a day Dad and/or your entire family will not soon
forget!
CIVIL WAR RAILROAD DAYS
Area residents should plan to visit
June 25 & 26 for our annual Civil War history celebration. Secret plans have
been uncovered by Union Army spies that the Confederate Army will raid trains.
Union soldiers will defend the trains. Also, there will be a living history
encampment at the museum grounds.
WHAT PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW:
PARKING and ADMISSION to the grounds are FREE. Train tickets are $5 for adults
and $3.00 for kids 12 and under. Museum grounds open at 11:30 a.m. and trains
run from 12 noon to 5 p.m. CST.
The Hesston Steam Museum is located east of State Rd. 39 (west of Basswood Rd.)
on LaPorte County Rd., 1000 North / From I-94 (Exit 1 Michigan), New Buffalo or
Indiana Toll Rd (Exit 49), La Porte.
